How much are developers making in Latin America?

So far in 2022 at TECLA, we have placed 200+ IT professionals from Latin America with exciting tech companies from the U.S., Canada and Europe.

Part of what made this process successful was the transparency in the information, particularly in salary ranges. All of our opportunities come with that number. Knowing the market context is important, not just for the hiring company but for you as a candidate. That's how you negotiate the salary, backed by numbers. So let's review them, shall we?

  Annual Salary Ranges

Despite the economic downturn and tech layoffs, IT professionals in LatAm have continued to thrive. An increasing number of companies from the U.S., Canada, and Europe are betting on the region's talent pool.Salaries for senior engineers are holding steady after a surge in 2022, and increases have slowed. However, we are seeing a lot of salary growth for junior and mid-level developers that we had not seen previously.

  • Frontend Developer: $57,400 - $97,488

  • Backend Developer: $63,240 - $104,433

  • Full Stack Developer: $61,452 - $98,499

  • DevOps Engineer: $65, 778 - $112,987

  • QA Engineer: $46,740 - $73,488

  • Data Engineer: $59,796 - $113,412

  • Data Scientist: $62,465 - $94,788

  • UX/UI Designer: $42,828 - $82,740

These numbers are in U.S. dollars and are based on our 2022 LATAM Developer Compensation Report, our in-house annual research.
